How to perform the Rader Chest Pull

The Rader Chest Pull is a very effective traditional exercise which a lot of the old bodybuilders used to expand their ribcages. If you read any material on the history of bodybuilding, you will see that this exercise really works.

For this exercise, you will need to hold onto something stable. A door frame, as shown in the picture, is a good option, as is a static bar.

-Start in a good upright standing position.

-Whilst holding onto the door frame or bar above your head, push your chest down and outwards at the same time, squeezing your shoulder blades together and pulling your navel in towards your spine.

-You should feel the pull on your sternum.

-Hold the position for 30 seconds or more.
