How to create a Facebook ad account, avoid having it shut down, and what to do if it is!

I just want to share this guide I came across, by Michelle and Bill Pescosolido, on how to avoid getting your Facebook advertising account shut down and what to do if it is.

At present, around two million of the total one billion users on Facebook make use of the Facebook advertising platform. This includes huge, multi-million dollar companies, who are wanting to create brand awareness and to make more sales (this is usually done by social media ad agencies), solo personal trainers and the like wanting to get more clients, and even bloggers and website owners who just want to get more traffic (and leads) to their website/sales funnel.

As Facebook has so many users and its advertising platform is so good at targetting people, it is important not to overlook Facebook when building your business, be it online or offline. The only problem with the Facebook advertising platform is that the rules and guidelines are now so tight and strict. The rules also change very regularly, so it is FAIRLY easy to have your account shut down – even for the wrong reason(s). And when it is shut down it is tricky to get it re-opened again. You see, unless you are spending thousands and thousands with Facebook, you won’t have a personal Facebook advertising rep you can talk to on a regular basis to help you with what you should change or avoid, to keep your advertising optimised, and to stop your account getting shut down.

There are simply not enough advertising reps to look after all of the two million people paying Facebook to essentially use Facebook’s database to get more people onto their own. That’s what it mainly comes down to in the end: getting access to Facebook’s database. It is pretty much the same when advertising on any social media platform.

Anyhow, if you don’t have an advertising rep and you don’t want your account to be shut down, or it has already been shut down and you’re not sure what to do, have a read of this report.

Also have a read of the offical Facebook advertising policies and rules on the Facebook website here.

If you want to advertise on Facebook, click here to go to the Facebook marketing and advertising page. Or you can access the ad platform when you are logged in to your personal account by clicking on the downward triangle on the top, right-hand side, just by the padlock symbol, and scrolling down to “Create Ads”.

Not sure how to create an ad and work the Facebook ads platform? Michelle and Bill Pescosolido have another guide you can download from their website that can help you with this.

I hope this helps! 🙂
