How much does Google Adsense really pay?

How much does Google Adsense really pay? Well, many people say $1 per every thousand views, and some say $2 per thousand views, and others say up to $5, depending on what ads are displayed, how long they are viewed for and where they are viewed.  This applies to having Google adsense ads on your YouTube channel videos and/or website (if you have either, that is).

Anyway, the fact of the matter is its not very much unless you have a hugely popular YouYube video or channel and/or website site that gets massive volumes of traffic.

Hugely popular websites like the HuffingtonPost.com, Mashable.com, TechCrunch.com and PerezHilton.com make tens of thousands of dollars a month from having Google ads on their websites, but that is because they get hundreds of millions of views per month.

As you can see in the back end picture of MakingYouAware.com’s YouTube channel below, in the last 28 days (at the time of writing this) we have had 56,214 views and have made $54.14 dollars. So that does work out at pretty much $1 per thousand views. Which can always change, obviously.

You can roughly workout what someone is earning on their YouTube channel by looking at their total amount of views, dividing it by a thousand (being conservative), and then dividing that number by the amount of years they have had their YouTube channel online. You can see this in the “about” section of their YouTube channel.

Let’s take PewDiePie, for example. He is the most subscribed YouTube user of all time (again, at the time of writing this).

He has had over 10 billion views since April 2010! At the time of writing this, it is at 10,722,699,688!

Taking 10,722,699,688 and dividing by 1000 works out to just over ten and half million dollars! At the time of writing this it’s 2015, so dividing 10.5 million by 5 is around 2.1 million dollars. This means that up until now, PewDiePie has averaged over two million dollars a years from Google ads alone! Amazing! In reality, it probably started as quite a bit less and increased over the years. Only he really knows.
